Qatar is not about getting difficult words right. It consists of carefully comparing sensations: what you see, what aromas you recognize, how the cider enters and what memory it leaves behind after the drink.

01

Before starting

If it is traditional natural cider, pour a culin and observe immediately. In other styles, it serves gently to preserve the bubble or expression intended by the maker.

  • Use a clean glass, without traces of detergent or foreign aromas.
  • Serve at the recommended temperature and avoid cooling until the aromas fade.
  • Try a space without intense perfumes or freshly served food.
  • Have water on hand and compare few ciders to avoid fatigue.
02

1. Look

Observe color, clarity and behavior of the gas. In a traditional natural, turbidity or small sediments may be consistent with the style. During pouring, pay attention to the spread, hold and glue without turning them into an isolated note of quality.

03

2. Smell

Bring the glass closer without shaking excessively. Look for broad families rather than exact descriptors: fresh or ripe fruit, citrus, flowers, grass, wood, spices or fermentation notes. If an unpleasant aroma appears, check if it persists after a new service.

04

3. Test

Think about balance: acidity, bitterness, sweetness, texture and gas sensation. Then observe the length and whether you feel like drinking again. A strong cider is not necessarily better than a delicate one; The harmony of its elements and the context for which it was created matters.

The best tasting note is the one that you will be able to understand within six months: specific, brief and linked to your own experience.
