Editorial methodology

We publish useful, traceable guides proportionate to the available evidence. This method defines how Sidroteca researches, translates, corrects and updates content.

01

Source selection and hierarchy

We prioritise public institutions, UNESCO, the Asturian Cider PDO, museums, archives and original technical documentation. Explanatory sources provide context, but do not replace specifications, regulations or records when those exist.

  • Every guide lists its principal sources and links to the original document.
  • We separate observed data, interpretation and estimation.
  • A commercial statement is never the sole evidence for a historical claim.
02

Translation and language parity

Content is drafted in Spanish and automatically translated into English and Asturian. Translations do not receive systematic human review, so we disclose that limitation and run technical checks before publication.

  • The same sections, sources, images, visible FAQs and related links in every language.
  • A controlled glossary for terms including llagar, chigre, espicha, culín and pumarada.
  • Checks for untranslated text, broken links, divergent sources and content that is too short.
03

Corrections and update dates

When a source changes or we receive a correction, we check the evidence, update every affected language and change the visible review date. Legal and privacy-related corrections require specialist review before publication.

Translated legal pages are informative: the Spanish version is always identified as binding and every legal page remains outside the index.

04

What we do not publish

We do not mass-generate pages for keyword combinations, expose private catalogue entries as acquisition pages or add reviews, ratings or structured questions that are not visible and verifiable.

New guides will be chosen from genuine reader questions, editorial gaps and queries observed in Search Console.
